A New process I developed uses a technique; I call Sumi Earth Art.I collect fresh flower blossoms,leaves; seaweeds and sandollars;arranging materials to create landscapes. Using an ancient ink painting medium from Japan Sumi-ee watercolor technique. Positioning a sanddollar as the sun completes the scene. Shown, "Mermaid Under the Sea"

Hello, It's time for harvesting fresh blooms and scouring the beach for usable pieces of seaweeds. In the presses, purple rhody's, trillium, buttercups, violets, chives, seaweed leaves, branching seaweeds and a curly broad purple seaweed. Coming White Azaleas.....
The seaweeds will be used to create unique mermaid scenes in the "mermaid under the sea series", Some branching types will represent land based trees in my scapes. Flower pressings are unique to each blossom, so we have to wait and see what is born.

Sumi Earth Art has recently released a newsletter through Three Sister's Marketplace, a new online venue for artisans and crafters. I was selected via jury to participate in their shops. Wendy Wolf supplied the template and professional editing and posting of all artisan newsletters, Thank you. Once my article was released it was picked up on May18th and published by an online resource "The Daily Globe". This article is written for you the public who have an interest in the mixed media techniques of Sumi Earth Art.
