After much thought and deliberation I am reclassifying my art process as mixed media. It seems fine craft is an item either to wear, use, show, or place on a shelf as a decoration. My work is to be hung on a wall therefor it is not a fine craft. Your opinion please leave a comment and enter your e-mail to receive new posts by e-mail.

A New process I developed uses a technique; I call Sumi Earth Art.I collect fresh flower blossoms, leaves; seaweeds and sandollars;arranging materials to create landscapes. Using an ancient ink painting medium from Japan Sumi-ee watercolor technique. Positioning a sanddollar as the sun completes the scene. Shown, "Mermaid Under the Sea"
What do you think of my work?

New Classification of Genre
After much thought and deliberation I am reclassifying the Sumi Earth Art process as mixed media, which makes more sense. I have learned that fine crafts are usually items that can be worn or placed upon a shelf as decoration as opposed to art that is hung in a room. I use many natural items in my work and incorporate a Japanese ink painting technique to create pleasing, eye catching and relaxing works of art. Do you agree?
